how is silverware made
Is most silverware nowadays made from stainless steel?
How can I tell if a metal spoon is stainless steel or another, more reactive metal?
well silver would look more shiny than stainless steel for sure. Also if you had to buy a product made from pure silver it would tell on the label. And both silver and stainless steal are nearly uncreative.

What makes water marks (spots) on silverware?
I know it’s when the spots dry,
but I want to know SPECIFICALLY what in the water is making the spots. Is it salts? Or something else?
It depends on the water source and the impurities contained within it. As the water evaporates, the impurities collect and leave a residue on the silverware because they cannot evaporate.
